Bukit Bendera: The First Autism Lions Club

Did you know…

While we are the first Autism Lions Club in Australia, we are only second in the world?

The first Autism Lions Club in the world is the Lions Club of Penang Bukit Bendera, in the northern Malaysian state of Penang.

Bukit Bendera (Malay for “Flag Hill”) was created for the parents of autistic students who attend the Lions Resource and Education for Autistic Children (Lions REACh) Centre in George Town, Penang.

They are still going strong today.

So we give thanks to Bukit Bendera Lions and to Lions REACh for their role in inspiring the burgeoning Autism Lions Clubs movement here in Australia!
