SACLC Starts Providing Free First Aid Classes to Young Adults with Autism

In partnership with Future Academy, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and the Autism Community Network (ACN), an organisation providing support to families and individuals with autism, the Sydney Autism Community Lions Club Inc. has brokered an agreement to provide free accredited First Aid classes (HLTAID003) to young adults who are on the autism spectrum.

With the support and assistance of the ACN, the SACLC will recruit youths with autism to study the one-day First Aid course at Future Academy. While Future Academy has provided a heavily discounted rate for the course, the SACLC will subsidise the remaining amount .

The main purpose of this agreement is to empower youths with autism through taking the First Aid class which will make them more employable in many industries. In the near future, the SACLC hopes to broker a wider agreement encompassing more courses such as Responsible Service of Alcohol, Responsible Conduct of Gambling and Food Safety.

The first inclusive First Aid course at Future Academy will take place in the coming weeks.
